World Health Store (WHS) - Management Team Profile

Drew Campbell, CEO & Founder

Since his youth, Drew has been exposed to the world of health & wellness. At the age of twelve, Drew worked at his father’s pharmacy in Australia to service customers. During this time, he shadowed his father throughout the day, observing his father counseling customers on their health concerns. In those early years, he developed a passion for fitness and nutrition, which subsequently led to a career path in health focused firms such as General Nutrition Centre (GNC), Bionatural, Usana Health Sciences and Mitamins where he excelled in sales and marketing leadership roles. With each developing role, he learned about the success factors of a sustainable health business such as shop management, supply chain management, product development and retail marketing. By the time Drew left Australia for China in 2005, he was experienced in all areas of building, managing and expanding a health store chain. The following year, he started up ‘World Health Store’ in Beijing with the intention of building a regional chain of health shops in Asia originating from China.

Drew founded World Health Store (WHS) with the philosophy of consolidating and offering only global top tier products to customers for a ‘one-stop-shop health & wellness experience.’ With his accumulated knowledge, he has chosen products that are internationally renowned, supported by science and endorsed by medical advisory boards. Subsequently - the choosing of the name, “World Health Store” as Drew ventures to source quality health remedies from around the world.

His multi-cultural team reinforces this philosophy as they bring onboard their various health & wellness knowledge bases from their originating countries to offer the customer the accumulation of 50+ years of certified ‘health & wellness’ knowledge.

The essence of World Health Store is drawn from Drew’s personal philosophy which he applies to his management style:
“To achieve a happy, fulfilled and successful life, we need to treat every day, everything and everyone with authentic intentions. To be happy, we need to first give to others before receiving. To be fulfilled, we must strive for the future yet be satisfied with where we are at present. And to be successful, we must work together towards one goal with absolute resilience.”

Dora Campbell (Dou Xuan), Co-Founder

Dora has been with World Health Store since the start of three years ago. With over seven years of design experience in advertising firms and gifting companies along with a technical background from Hebei Institute of Technology, Dora conceptualizes and visually translates the WHS culture on paper. She works with the team to express World Health Store in a seamless bi-lingual fashion on all marketing materials from logo to brochures to store environment. Inspired by fitness, she moved to World Health Store to help the firm build its visual identity from the beginning. As World Health Store expands, Dora’s role is increasingly strategic as she is the right arm of the CEO & Founder and advises on supply chain management, operations, human resources, accounting, and marketing.
Dora gravitated to WHS because of her interest in fitness yet remains because WHS is an extension of her desire to care for others and does so by educating others about health when she is not creating another vivid marketing piece.

Margie Chiang, Director (Board Of Directors)

Margie has over ten years of healthcare marketing experience and nearly nine years of hands-on China operations experience. Prior to her health & wellness career, she was based in Shanghai growing her family's semiconductor equipment trading firm. She began her transition into healthcare in 2000 after obtaining her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Accumulating product management experience in both the wellness space and medical device area, she launched an herbal tea line for Deepak Chopra’s start-up, My Potential, and managed a USD65 million endoscopic vessel harvesting medical device line at Guidant (acquired by Boston Scientific in 2006). Jim Dawson (Zhang Feng), Operations Director

Jim discovered boxing and body building after he left Beijing for Melbourne at fifteen years old and began to compete in both while growing up in Australia. A natural interest in sports nutrition and related health topics resulted and manifested itself into a sales management role with NuSkin when Jim returned to Beijing in 2003. Leveraging his bi-cultural background, Jim not only managed a sales territory but also worked as a bridge between the corporate office and key Chinese authorities given his fluency in both Mandarin and English. After his stint at NuSkin, Jim used his fitness knowledge to become a distributor of imported sports nutrition brands. From this experience, he developed a wholesale account network throughout China. At World Health Store, Jim manages the supply chain from importing products to sourcing wholesale accounts throughout China. His past experience in government affairs has facilitated a secure supply chain from port to point-of-sale.

Ay Lin Kho, Customer Service Manager

Since she was a small child Ay Lin just loved to eat. This passion for food did not fade away and the choice to study Nutrition and Health at the “Wageningen Agricultural University” was not too hard to make, even though her parents wanted her to study medicine or dentistry…

With her Master of Science degree she did not want to work as a researcher; with a unique profile and carefully chosen majors such as Marketing and Communication on the one hand and Nutrition Science on the other she aimed for positions in commercial health companies being the translator in the grey area between science and marketing. She worked at nutrition giants like Nutricia, leading baby milk powder in The Netherlands (a sister organization of the baby nutrition company Dumex in China) where she worked in medical sales and Yakult, the leading Japanese fermented milk drink containing probiotics, where she worked at the European headquarters in Corporate Communication.

Ay Lin was born in The Netherlands, her parents are from Indonesia but her ancestors are Chinese. With all the experience in The Netherlands: She always wanted to work in Asia…Back to her roots!

Sally Mayo, Store Manager

Sally has over 20 years of marketing management experience with foci on creative packaging and product development. As the voice for the consumer, her experience focuses on delighting customers with needed products and discovering unmet needs.
In the United States, she has worked in retail giants such as Eddie Bauer and Hallmark cards – ensuring that retail aesthetics and design not only please the company but most importantly – the customer. At Eddie Bauer, as the Manager of Packaging & Labels, she was responsible for developing, approving and implementing a USD5M packaging and label-related strategies and tactics project that covered all product categories, divisions and channels of distribution in a timely fashion. As Art Director / Creative Product Designer at Hallmark Cards, Sally collaboratively worked on a cross-functional team responsible for conceiving new products, facilitating partnerships and executing timely production. In her free time, Sally is a ‘cardiovascular queen’ with running, martial arts training, boot camping and kettle belling in her work out regimen.
